My car started pinging today. I havnet changed or cleaned the fuel injectors so i figured that might be the cause. So what im wondering is what else it could be. Thanks

Pinging? As in maybe detonation!?

If you think your injectors are dirty and aren't providing enough fuel, this may be a possibility. In which case, this would be VERY bad... usually a few pings and your engine is done.

How loud is the pinging? What are the noise characteristics exactly?

The first thing to do is think about the fuel you put in, was it different then before? Also, one easy way to help it stop pinging is to put in the highest octane (92 or 93) you have around you. Also, check the timing, if it is too advanced, then it will ping. timing information is found at 240sx.org FAQ. If those things are fine, then move on to more complicated things.

its not my fuel, the car has been sitting for a few months, nothing has really changed. Could it also be the fuel filter? My pinging is like a poping and a vibration that shakes the entire car. I figured this was detonation, never having experinced it I didnt know what it was. I always put 91 (highest around here) in so i know its not that. Im gonna change the fuel filter and then clean the injectors. Anyone else have anything else I could do?

The fuel might be old, if it started to varnish that might affect something, otherwise I don't really know what to do. Did you check your timing, it may have slipped. Is this happening at full-throttle or some other time?
Do you think it might be backfiring?

It could be backfirning too, its like i said ive never dealt with detonation before. The fuel has been standing for about a year though, but its all through the RPM range,.

First off, get that gas out of there. Second, is the popping/vibration rhythic? Does it happen consistently? You probably have a misfire. Get the gas out of there, try some injector cleaner, and see if that gets rid of it....if not, there are some other things to look in to.
