Oil Pressure Guage Hook Up

Where on the SR block can I hook the oil pressure guage up to? Also, will this threaded bung thing work, or will I need to buy an adapter? Thanks!

Autometer plugs right into the dumpster. HAHA. Sorry, i don't trust autometer.

Anyways, the GReddy Sandwich oil filter plate should work fine, i think oil pressure seonsors may b universal fit. But then again, i dunno, Autometer is an American company. Email [email protected] and ask him, he may know, or find out. If you know your autometer's sensor thread pitch and size, im sure that would help a lot too.

auto meter water temp sensor is 1/8 NPT -27 im willing to bet oil pressure is the same... i can check tomorrow i have both the gauges and sensors sitting in my garage...
but the GReddy stuff is probably 1/8 BSPT

you will either need a NPT -27 to BSPT adapter, or tap one or the other out. i had to tap my water temp unit to accept the autometer sensor, i may tap out my oil filter sandwhich plate too when it comes down to time to install my oil pressure gauge.

hope this helps...

the nicest thing about this is you pay like 2.00 shipped for the adapter instead of over 100 for the greddy part

If you have oil cooler, you can measure it that way.

Funny I should be installing my sensor and such a convenient thread should pop up...

Anyhow, I have a greddy unit, and I called them about the NPT vs. BSPT deal...Greddy senders are NPT. A SR20 block is BSPT...you need a small adaptor if you are doing away with the stock unit...which I will be doing.

Peace.

Peace.
I don't know about the greddy oil block unit, but I do know that their oil pans are BSPT. They told me it was NTP, but its not. They even called Japan (dunno why, but they said they do it couple times a day) to confirm it was NPT and not BSPT, and they were WRONG!
I you should try it out before getting the adapter. I think their senders are BSPT and they dont know the difference.

The OE pressure switch is 1/8 BSPT. The autometer sender is 1/8 NPT.
You need an adapter from 1/8 BSPT male to 1/8 NPT female.
Autometer sale those for about 8 buks.

Why? Because you like having an inaccurate sending unit that is guaranteed to leak?

I'd rather run without anything than to have the OE sending unit.

I installed my autometer oil pressure gauge, its easy, get that part from mcmaster carr that was mentioned, but you'll also probably need iirc, a 45 degree adaptor for it because when I installed mine I had clearance issues with the sender unit facing vertical. I'll try to get the part numbers to those parts from mcmaster and I'll post it up.
