I have a question.  Is it normal that a 3" topspeed catalyser looks like a big resonator (just like a glasspack)?

it is a big resonator, not a cat.  the quality and fit and finish on Topspeed products are very good.  I have one right now if you need pics please let me know.

Random Technology does make one for the 240sx. The part number is 822530.
Here is a pic of the dynograph on a 300zx for a little comparison. I know it's a 6cyl. but it makes the point that one does help.
