Fender Harness Wiring

Hey guys,

I'm trying to find out where to plug my fender harness in. I see the wire with its plug hanging near my clutch pedal but I have no idea where to plug it in. Anyone got pics where i can plug this sucker in?

*To be more specific, I believe its the wire that connects somewhere in the dash, where it provides electrical power for the speedo, rpm guage, brake lights, and turn signals*

Only my headlights work, nothing else; besides that the car starts.

BTW- Its an 89 240sx

Thanks

The huge ass white thing is called the Super Multiple Junction. It doesn't have any plugs and hides in the cutout by your dead pedal.

The blue things hangin off are relays. I don't know exactly which are which.

It doesn't look too bad. The white thing is the SMJ and bolts into the engine harness that goes around the front left fender. The relays are accessories relays.

If you want to get familiar with the wiring, I recommend removing the entire body harness and "engine room" harness. You can leave anything that plugs into the ECU and the engine intact, but everything else can come out.

Then get an FSM and trace out all the wire colours. Fix what needs fixing and reroute the fender harness into the engine bay for best protection.

You DON'T plug that connector in! That connector is to hook up a scan tool to the car (I.E. nissan consult tool, snap-on scanner, etc...)! There4 should be another 6-pin connector that also goes to nowhere under there. It has a plastic sheath around it just like the OBD connector. It goes to the optional factory foglight switch.

Hmmmm....All along I thought it connected somewhere and my dash lights, speedo, brake lights, would work. : (. I'm quite stumped on how to fix my problem, although I know it is related to the fender harness wiring as it is the main source of power for the dash, brake lights, and the main electrical functions.

I'm stumped, I may have to bring this to a mechanic.

Thanks for all your help.

Did you even check the fuses? Does the car start?

Yeah, I checked the fuses they seem fine; but just in case I will change all fuses. The car does start and after awhile the car is on the battery indicator on the LED lights up.

Car runs and drives fine, headlights are the only thing part of electrical that are working. Everything else is non-op.

Any fuses i should be looking out for?

*Forgot to mention its been sitting around for 2 years, I just recently did a tune up e.g spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter, 10w40 Mobile 1 Synthetic, flushed out radiator.

BTW- racepar1 and Hashiriya415 you guys are awesome and thanks for the help. I'm thankful to have you guys help me out.
