someone correct me if im wrong but isnt it like this -
TURBO- you need to have special manifold and headers and some other things and it helps in LOW rpm range
SUPER- is a direct bolt on no other parts needed and aids in HIGH rpm range

Turbo Chargers are powered off the exit gas there for they have lag. This is the downfal of turbochargers. The good point though is that a turbocharger will have the ability to generate more horse power over a super charger. Turbo Chargers are not always the best for "aroud town" driving because they lag.

Super Charger are belt driven and have no lag this is there benifit. But they fall off and can not produce the high HP numbers that turbo chargers can. Super Chargers are better for around town driving because there is no lag so boost is always there.

Or you could go the "Twin Charged" route. This means you have a supercharger that produceds a moderate amount of boost for low rpms and a turbo charger that produces a moderate amount of boost for high rpm. Result, no lag and boost through out the rev range.

My personal prefrence is a turbo charger just because i have owned 2 turbo cars

supercharger makes all of its power in the LOW rpm range, because of the absence of lag, and adds detrimental drag to the crank, which is made up for by th epower it adds

turbo makes power in the HIGH rpm range, feeding off of the exhaust gasses to spin a wheel which compresses air into the intake tract. its basically power for free

my vote is on turbo, because it doesnt make alot of extra noise (Except for the BOV and wastegate), and is more expandable, you can only go so far on a supercharger

i like your idea for the whole twin charged route matt, although that is completely insane <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> reminds me of the old lancia delta S4...group B rally car, did 2.8 second 0-60...on gravel. was supercharged and had a centrifugal clutch to control the valves that decide whether the supercharger or turbocharger is feeding the engine. very fast car, they had to close group B rally because of it, because it was way too fast and way too dangerous

check out this site for superchargers every thing u could wanna know www.superchargersonline.com Plus, they have made alot of advances in superchargers and have some that slam power throughout the entire rev range not just the low end with alot less power required to make it. Just check out the site.
