Media from EDC Team Battle Event, UK - 13/07/08

A few pictures from today's European Drift Championship Team Battle at Santa Pod Raceway, England.

Team Orange [Tanaka and Kumakubo] won the event, it was clear to see that those two guys drift together EVERY DAY. They were rubbing doorhandles all day long. Team JAPSPEED came second [Drivers Danny Ayles and Shane Lynch [of Boyzone fame]].

Adam Richards from D1NZ was also i the UK with his A31 Cefiro for the event. I believe he's over here for 2 years so will most likely be competing fully next season. His car is awesome, RB26 power and great colourscheme.

Heres the pics -

Adam's awesome A31

Team Orange Subarus

Shane Lynch's R33 GTS

Danny Ayles' R33

Scotty's R34

Paul Smith's S15 - Paul met wall on Saturday's competition.

Clean 180sx in the pits.

Phil Morrisson's 2JZ'd S15.

Matt Carter's Team Green S14a also met wall on Saturday.

Steveo's strawberrys and cream 2JZ'd S14.5

Team Orange hair-salon

Adam out on track.

Brett Castle's S14a - also met the wall on Saturday's competiton.

Few cars from the pits/drag strip.

This Mk2 Escort was running 10s quarters all day, unbelievably clean all over too.

Team Driftworks out on track, awesome driving from all three. Bon's Chaser and Phil's S15 are uber-smoke machines.

More carnage, Adam's rear bumper. His front bumper was exploded earlier in the day from hitting one of the small red and white concrete blocks.

Team Orange and Team Driftworks comparing colour-schemes.

The thing I missed getting on camera was Team Orange's final run. Kumakubo surprised everyone by spinning round at the start line and lining up at the finish line facing the wrong way. Tanaka and Kuma then proceeded to drift the track at the same time in opposite directions, crossing over half way and missing each other by inchs. Crowd went wild, game over, Orange wins.

Fantastic event topped off a fantastic weekend for me as I went to see this guy in Birmingham the Friday before.

Lupe Fiasco

Cheers for looking.

They were. Just the wrong height to write off bumpers/IC/suspension arms and wheels.

I was due to be driving at the event but didn't get my clutch/gearbox fixed in time. Quite glad in the end as the track was bumpy as heck and was spitting people off left right and centre. God knows how the Team Orange guys got so close all the way round and didn't collide.

Thats Phil Morrison's S15. 2JZ conversion, bulkhead removed and replaced about a foot further back, engine sits right back. Vertex Ridge Widebody kit and Do Luck Double 6 wheels.

600hp at 1.1bar, aims for 1000hp apparently at high boost.

Full build is here -

http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drif...15-2jzgte.html

As the exhaust, Phil has always done something pretty crazy with his exhausts, his old S14a was one of the first I remember with a rear quarter-exit exhaust.
