S13 OEM Silvia steering wheel types?

Does anyone know if there is more then 1 type of OEM S13 Silvia steering wheel (early/late production)? And, does anyone have any pics? This info has been hard to find, pics are hard to find too.

I'm trying to find one for my project but there doesn't seem to be that many floating around.

The zenki s13 silvia had the steering wheel with the Silvia emblem on the horn button and the kouki steering wheel was the same as our dual cam coupes. That is all.

I think theres at least 4 different types.

1. This thing

2. The same one we get on 240's

3. The kouki 180's had the 4 spoke ones like on the Maxima

4. Dealer optional part. Can't remember if it was Momo or Nardi. Don't have a pic of this one, but it was another 3 spoke wheel.

Thanks all. I think the first one is the one I want, anybody got one (I tried the WTB forum already but I'll try again)?

My first car with Silvia HICAS II

Current car with Kouki 180sx wheel with airbag (It is the shiiiit)

Not mine MOMO optional Wheel has red stitching

Hope this helps.
If you want to keep your cruise control neither came with buttons so you have to tear the USDM wheel apart and relocate them.

wasn't the momo only available on the s14 though? Is the only difference between the hicas steering wheel and non non hicas steering wheel the horn button?

I think the MOMO was availabe in almost every model. <1996 RPS13, S14, S15, Y33 (CIMA/Q45), etc.

DreamN - True the only difference is the horn button.

the momo wouldn't make sense in the s13 unless it was in the kouki 180SX seeing as the s13 silvia never had an air bag AFAIK. So the S13 Silvia only came with two steering wheels, the one with the Silvia horn button (be it HICAS or Non-Hicas) and the same one we got on our DOHC s13s in the states.

Yeah I didn't clearify in my post <1996 models.

S13 Silvia = 2 factory wheels

I guess I was just giving him (op) other options with a factory look

Ahh, kouki 180sx is by far the winner here even though it wouldn't actually be model correct for my year (93). I want one! Let me know if you want to get rid of it.

Like I said, theres another wheel for S13's which was a factory option. It was a Momo or Nardi, no airbag. I think jspec.com had it at one time.

You mean the Momo or the regular 4 spoke? You can get the regular 4 spoke off of a Nissan Maxima like someone already said. Exact same thing. Momo, be prepared to pay out the wazoo.

I mean the regular 4 spoke (love the Momo though, but too much money I'm sure). What year exactly on the Maxima? I looked at some air bag pics of different year Maxima's on ebay and non looked quite like that one.

thanks,
Fred

Slightly OT, and I'm almost sure there isn't, but are there any 180sx exclusive steering wheels (other than the kouki model) that I'm not aware of?

Update: Found a bag and wheel off of an 00 Maxima today here where I work and it bolted on and looks great. VERY similar to the kouki 180sx pictured in the post up above, I'm happy.

I'll post up some pics tonight. Need to figure out a way to make the horn work though since the Max uses a clockspring for it's horn wiring apparently and the S13 has weird 3 prong spring loaded slider type contacts behind the wheel. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Fred

Top pic is a S13 Silvia, bottom pic is a zenki 180sx. It is ever so slightly different if you look closely.

Thanks for the help atom, but that didn't entirely answer my question. I was asking if there were any wheels found ONLY on the 180sx, not 240sx, silvia, 200sx, etc. But I guess not. Cool.

Here's the 00 Max wheel installed, I love this thing BTW. Just got the horn to work too and now I'm working on making the Maxima cruise switch work in place of the stock one, makes the interior look so much more modern.

That 180sx wheel was also on the S14s in Japan... and sold as an option on S14s IN THE USA... (you can order them from courtesy parts but they're ~$650)

also they were used on the R33 Skylines AND as an option on the European Maximas from the same era.

I have one that came out of a 95 JDM S14:

*I'm currently looking to get the leather repaired since it's fairly warn.

here's a picture of it in an S14:

and just because no one has posted it yet, S13 leather steering wheel:

Though my personal favorite is the R34 Steering wheel which is a 3 spoke version of the "kouki 180sx" wheel with a GT-R logo

the non GTR version is the same but with Nissan embossed in the leather instead of the emblem.
