So i used to have no problem chirping my tires in the 1-2 shift but all of a sudden it just bogs down! Ya think I toasted my clutch? I always double clutch and heel toe ('cept when I'm trying to chirp) and I'm using higher octane gas but still no go. Any ideas? The clutch seems fine in every other way and i'm running stock HP.
HELP!!!

it actually BOGS?
hhmm if u felt better performance, i'd say that becuz ur tires got bald u got more traction and less chirping.. but if it feels slower that can't be it...
when u double clutch, do u mean for UPSHIFTING or downshifting?
cuz ur not supposed to double clutch for upshifting.. that mite burn ur clutch faster than normal

i dbl clutch on the upshift w/ engine rpm at upper gear rpm to try and reduce the shock to the gear train. I actually got new tires and it still chirped; although i guess that the new tires COULD have more traction broken in than my old baldies....

well.. bald tires always get more tractin (until u run out of rubber).. the treads are only there to displace the water so u wont be gliding into the center divider when it rains...

i still dont see why u doubleclutch for upshift thou... does ur rpm actually drop below the rpm ur higher gear would need for ur current speed?
heh i'm only asking cuz i drive an auto, and when i drive my friends manuals i only get this slight lurching w/o doubleclutch from 1-2, all the other gears i just depress the clutch and it's fine

maybe you're right, just seemed to make sense that i could control the pilot shaft rpm better that way; but any opinions on the lurch?

just gotta know the car and figure out how much gas to give it. I used to get that, and I still do every once in a while. Then again, I basically pop the clutch every time I shift, but as long as u give it the right amount of gas you shouldn't have any problem.

the lurch when u UPshift is cuz ur engine's still going too fast for that gear i believe... hhmm haha when i get a stick i'll be able to tell you
but yea, just slowly release the cluthc, it'll cause ur clutch to wear slightly more but hey, that's what clutches are for
