Hey all, click the link and tell me what you think about these rims, I kinda like them and they're cheap. Thanks.

SSR GT-3 knockoff.

The SSR GT-3 is a nice wheel though.

they're nice lookin wheels, but i think only look good on certain cars (IS300). unfortunatley, since they aren't the SSR's, they're probably heavy as poop.

mark - that used to not be true, but unfortunately it's starting to become that way.

Don't know about where you guys live, but here, pretty much every after market wheel and ALL steelies /w no wheel covers scream that. There is nothing sacred.

White - RIP. Black - RIP. Gunmetal - RIP. Bronze - RIP. Even Red, blue, and yellow (regardless of how tacky) - RIP.

Sadly, I think modified cars pretty much all scream high school ricer.

Nice Wheels, either way they'd be sweet. 18"? That's big, not a whole lot of rubber, good for show, but other than that, don't do any burnouts or drifting.

they look OK, but they dont list offsets available...? Which leads me to believe they only have/make high offsets, to suit honda owners. And in that case, no way. IMHO its not the wheel design thats most important, its the correct size/offset/ wheel fitment that makes a wheel look good.

straight out of home-ec class

they look nice but look better on some cars than others, i think they would look better on an s13 than an s14, but i won't know for sure till thye are on the car, but i would go for something smaller on size, especially if your are still on stock brakes, cuz those rims will really make it look like you have no brakes.

I think they look alright plus they're fairly cheap for rims.

If you want a light 5 spoke wheel, check out the Axis VPD. I think that in 17 inch they only weigh 16 lbs. Plus they cost just as much as the Exel DL-46

*Edit* Weight for 17 inch being 16 lbs is right. http://www.axiswheels.com/vpd.html

well, personaly those rims kick ass. i'd say get em'...maybe even gunmetal. and the comment about colored rims... dude, you see anything thats riced. stereotyping because what a person thinks looks good isn't right. my rims are black opel, so that makes me a ricer see... i happen to like gunmetal and colored rims on certain cars... like hooter's car. i say get what you like. get 17s btw, 18s are ridiculas.

well I have a Gun Metal car and I do not think putting Gun Metal wheels on it would look ricey. Now if the car had a huge wing and lots of stickers now thats ricey. Oh yeah I don't like those wheels anyways but thats me and my personal preferences.

Unless of course the interior is stripped, the body covered in stickers, the engine unmuffled and it's driven by a 40 yr old guy. Then it's pretty cool again, and likely to be fast. Of course it's also no longer street legal, but damn they'll drive circles around me.

LOL - the only difference between the average high school ricer car and the car you described is that one is waay too old to be in high school. Well, that and the fast thing.

I think the only real constant allowing a modded car to not scream high school ricer a functioning roll bar. Not those damb Monkey Barz that rest on the back seat (saw two of those yesterday) or those pimp-tittly-tastic JDM units (Cusco, etc.) that don't pass SCCA tech - but a real live SOLO I approved roll bar. (I don't say cages b/c you have to be an idiot to have one of those on the streets).

I guess my point is trying to avoid looking like a high school ricer is virtually impossible these days. If you want to drive a modded car, you just have to suck it up and deal with that stigma. (Gunmetal is still my favorite wheel color.

All I could think of when I read that was the guy from Fast Times at Ridgemont High when he says something to the effect of:

"That's what I love about high school girls...I keep gettin' older, but they stay the saaaaame age."

Just cause something doesn't pass SCCA tech doesn't mean it sucks. Safety 21 bars won't pass SCCA tech but are FIA approved, which waaaay supercedes SCCA in my book. SCCA safety rules are governed as much by politics as safety.

BTW, those Cusco bars you mentioned are intended for hot lapping and street use and should be used as such.
