My new truck!! I wanted a Cherokee, then a Jimmy, finally settled on this......

This is what they had before the SRT-8.......gas companies are going to love me. lolll

I'm going to pick it up Monday morning, I'll take some nice pictures after i wash it. This is a Google picture, but it's exactly the same, color and all. Mint body (like 99%) and 90,000 miles.

I went to see it twice in Ottawa before deciding on it, but tonight I called and said I was taking it, I can't wait!!!!!

It's a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9, fully loaded with towing package, sunroof, upgrade leather (over the 5.2) and 10 speaker sound system. Also, this one is full-time AWD, not 4x4, but still has a low gear, kind of like the new Land Rovers, just more reliable. lolll

It sounds amazing, pulls freaking hard and consumes 13mpg (avg of the onboard computer) of 91, so much awesomeness. lolll 250hp and 350ft-lbs of torque will do that.

you can do the 4WD transfer case conversion so you don't always use the AWD and save some gas. 2WD street, then slam the bitch on 4WD low or 4WD high for other terrains

5000lbs capacity, oddly, it's lower then the 5.2, but whatever, I ain't pulling anything. lol

It's RWD and can send up to 100% to the front if necesssary. So just driving around you are 2WD.

Can't wait to pic kit up!!!

Nice find! I was in the market for the same type vehicle and ended up with a 98 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4. Put a 3 inch Old Man Emu lift and BFG 31's and called it a day. The only downfall, 12mpg!!

i almost bought one of those a year ago. i put a $500 deposit down to get the paperwork done and the guy never got back to me! luckily my bank was able to refund me, but i wasnt able to find another 5.9 ended up settling on an 01 Sport.
the 5.9 actually has a lower tow capacity than the normal v8, i think because of the suspension it came with
i know what you mean about the sound, they sound SO MEAN!

Hope it works out for you, but I had a '98 5.2 Grand Cherokee for a little while and hated the thing. Crap was breaking left and right on the thing, and the transmission blew up on it about 5 months after I sold it. Good timing on my part I guess.

Jeep...

They pull pretty hard, but that's about it. Break down and depreciate like a mofo.

you have first hand experience?
ive had my 01 for over a year with no problems other than an exhaust leak
how many old school cherokees / wranglers do you see? i see them all the time, everywhere... to me that says theyre pretty reliable. the 4.0 (which is what mine has) is a proven engine

as far as depreciation, show me any other suv or any other car even that doesnt depreciate just the same

It's 10 years old and worth under 5000$, depreciation isn't exactly something I'm worried about.
