anyone know what this thing is? How to replace/fix?

It's the valve that lets the EGR open at the correct exhaust pressure. I dont know about the S14, but I circled it here in red from the S13 FSM.

Not hard to replace, just disconnect/unbolt the old one and put the new one in. It's easy to get to.
