i dont really want to deal with the hassle of trying to drop the SR into my car because i dont think i could get it to pass the stupid emmisions testing, so i guess i just goingto stick with my KA for now. Anyway, i know im going to have to fix my timing chain soon (its getting increasingly annoying). so yo guys think i should just fix that, and a few other things, fuel injectors, etc... or just keep saving and do a full rebuild?? What do you guys think??

hmm...you could get new injectors, but it'd be cheaper to just have yours rebuilt and blueprinted. im not sure how much a crank balancing costs...it shouldnt cost much at all to do a .030 bore of the cylinder walls though. i dunno...i'd just save up my money for a swap. you shouldnt have problems with emissions...

Hmm, haven't seen that before, I'll take care of it.
btw, I'd go for a rebuild. It's in my future, as well as higher compression pistons. Personally I don't want to overbore because the piston walls are a bit thin. |

a .030 bore wouldnt prevent you from using stock pistons at all, and wouldnt compromise your cylinder wall integrity. it'd just be to clean the cylinder walls and get rid of any nastiness in the compression chamber that could mess with airflow and such...it would afford a couple extra lb/ft of torque, probably, but thats not eh whole point of it. i dunno if i was staying na, though, i would get some overbored pistons and that little bore out, like a .25mm. i dont think the static pressure ratio would be able to blow your engine at these levels, unless you planned on running n2o part of the time.

I am in the same position, when I go back home for christmas I will be changing my timing belt as well. But I plan to go turbo in the future so increasing my compression wouldn't be too bright but I am, however, going to get a port and polish job. Plus I get my CAI and N1 dual put on!! YES!

its not as much as a bad sound, its just too loud. silencers are supposed to give you a little of that backpressure back, too. whether or not this will make any power difference i have never seen. if you go with an SR swap though, you know you dont have to worry about getting a new exhaust, since you already ahve a turbo-ready one.
