Just got my first nissan f**k honda - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

so I was a Honda lover until I finally decided there for amitures so I picked up a 89 coupe from Jackson and am making a lot of headway with it already. Anyway I bought a motor for it and wanted some opinions on what I paid for what im getting, some hp estimation and psi to run and the right turbo. Keep in mind id really like to make close to 500hp.

Motor: SR20DET redtop w/300miles on motor
one off custom intake mani. flows off the charts
custom exhaust mani.
Tomei cams/gears
after mark. springs and retainers
port and polish head
apex i 7 layer headgasket/intake mani gasket
weisco 8.5:1
eagle rods
balanced bottomed

ALSO INCLUDED:
samco hoses
mandrel turbo piping
nismo mounts
B&M shifter
greddy pan
tial wastegate
POWER FC with commander
all power searing components

so there it all is I need a few things fuel rail injectors mics. small things I PAID $4000.00 for is all

You got a deal. The engine has a lot of good stuff.
I would go top mount.
PSI would depend on the turbo and its efficiency range.
Should be good for around there...
but anything past 350-400whp starts to become gay on a street car.

Driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow.

If you are going 500hp... the lag would suck for anything other than drag.

thats so untrue I run a 560 awhp car in the summer months as my DD and its been nothing but fun for me, I also have a honda 08 accord v6 for my back up daily and winter car but I never want to drive it when its nice out. the lag with my car is not bad, turbos have come along along way in the past 5 years, I make 33 psi on pump pure 93 nothing else no meth nothing and I make full boost before 5k all the way to 9,200 rpm , the car still gets 27 mph on the highway if I stay out of it. I can drive it to the track and trap 135-138 mph and run a high 10.6-10.8 ish and drive it home. its great........... You can do whatever you want so many options you can go with turbo wise, tuning ect just read up on what others have done and ask reliable shops.

If you want to reach a usable 500HP, you got the wrong car buddy!

If you want the cheaper way to get to 500hp, drop in an LS and build up from there.

Or RB and build from there.

i came to love nissans along time ago and im not a dick honda guy there the main reason i got out of hondas, there all jerks. SR20KUKI is who im geting my motor from hes another reason i got into nissans. BUT i know where your comeing from hella honda people trying to tag the scean. Im just look for a car to drift and drag a fun all around car.
