Rb20 Start up

Alright, again for some reason there are no threads about start up problems for the rb20 or I'm just not trying hard enough.

If there is a thread - please link me to that thread. That would be very appreciated.

So here is the story :

I replaced my spark plugs, FPR, and recently installed a boost gauge.
All connections cleared, she fired up real nice. *Rev* *rev* *rev*.

Hmm. Okay everything is good. Gauge accurate. No leaks. Running fine.

*Drives down a few meters*. LA LA LA LA LA - *Engine dies*. SH*T.

So I was thinking : Hm. Maybe I ran outta gas.

*craannnnnnnnnk* ... *sputter*. Okay maybe I did run out of gas

*go to gas station, buys gas, siphons into tank*

Okay lets try again.
*Craaaannnnnnnnnnk* *vrrrmmm-----*sputter*... dies*.

!

*Crannnnnnnnnnnnnnnk* *vrrmmm---*sputter* (sh*t ; *taps throttle*) vrmm.. vr.. *sputter*... dies*.

Alright so this is the problem for those who are confused as hell :

-Recently installed a boost gauge, FPR, and spark plugs. Engine ran fine for 30 minutes or so, and then I drove down a few meters and the engine died.
Now it won't start up again.

Checked under to see if it were a busted fuel hose, but there is no leak of fuel.

Checked connections / hoses / pipes - all good.

Put in two gallons of gas. Nothing.

Adjusted FPR multiple times - nothing.

Fuel pump is NEW from Walbro... I hear it go *whrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* but then the engine always sputters out.... like a rattling noise kind of.

Cranks, sometimes fires up, but doesn't idle and always dies out.

What could it be? Any help would be nice, thanks.

Well the old FPR was busted... and the new one is fine - in fact before I installed my boost gauge everything was fine. I checked again today and all connections are good. Any ideas?... :x

Yea I do. I tried adjusting the FPR multiple times in increments of ten from 20 - 40 psi but the same thing happened.

Have you tried unpluging the maf yet? If it starts up and idles then the AirFlow meter is bad. You really should check your engine codes there is great info there.

If you are close to Huntington Beach, hit up Otis at RB-Performance.

rb-performance.net

He got my RB all up and running in no time.

Was this a running motor? Or was it the first time you started it from a swap?
