Autometer Tachometer

I have an S13 with redtop swap and #62 ecu.

I have an autometer tach. and have hooked up the green wire to the 180 CAS wire, but only rev's up to like 4k rpm. I get nothing when I tap the green wire to the rpm output signal on the ecu. Do I need to get the adapter? anyone with autometer tach. help me out?

I do however would really like to get my stock s13 tach to work. the stock tach wiring is as it should be, but does not work.

Please advise.

Thanks!
