Keep in mind I really don't know anything more about turbos and engines than what I read here and here
Ok so you get your air from your exhaust right? it gets compressed by the turbo, gets cooled by the innercooler, and then goes into your engine right? When the spark ignites the gas, the explosion uses up all the oxygen right, and then goes out the exhaust manafold and.... and...back into your turbo? You must be getting fresh air from somewhere and if your exhaust is going into your turbo, how does it get out your exhaust pipe? heh, i'm sure this sounds lame but those two articles just left some big holes in how it works, so if you would fill them that would be great. Thanks!

There are two sides to a turbo, Compressor and Turbine, they are connected together through a shaft that goes through the center section. Turbine side uses the exhaust to spin the Compressor. The compressor side is the one that pushes the air through the intercooler, and into the engine, the compressor also pulls in air from the outside, that's where you'd hook up your Cold air Induction or pop charge filter, or whatever else you can think of. If you can find a picture of a turbo somewhere, there's bound to be them all over the internet you'll see what I mean by two sides.

a turbo compresses the intake air. the exhaust is used to spin the turbo. if you look at a turbo it has 2 fans connected by a shaft, the exhaust hits one fan and spins the assembly to compress the intake air with the other fan. hope i explained it easily enough...
