Hey, don't bother doing any research for yourself. We'll take care of all the footwork for you.
(use the search function and/or google. there's also 240sx.org and nissan factory service manuals) -Kevin |

better driver
stock does GREAT! why replace it if your bushing are gone, yeah ok, understand upgrade, but if its fine. quit wasting money. learn to drive. good suspension doesnt make a better/faster car. THE DRIVER DOES. its like that old saab video thats online..the ballet type one. someone post it. sounds like somone has money to burn here.....but i can bet you've never acutally inspected the car's arms and bushings. is you local mechanic making the changes for you too? no handouts here. |

yay!
If you want specific advice - and it sounds like you do! - here's as specific as we're gonna get: Put the car up on jackstands. Take off all the wheels. Take a look at the suspension and rear subframe for yourself. If anything needs to be replaced, it'll be obvious. If it ain't broke... you know the rest. |

I'll give you another bit of advice. Unless you've hit something pretty hard or jacked things in the wrong places, there's no reason the solid parts of the suspension should need replacing (control arms, tc rods, etc). That's not to say they couldn't stand upgrading, but you asked for stock parts, so I can only assume you just want a new suspension. Now wear items, like dampers, bushings, control arm boots, TC rod bushings, etc can wear out over time (hence wear item) and gerenally could use some refreshing to bring the car back to it's fine handling form when new, or improved with some upgraded parts.
Do you understand if I tell you the lower control arm, LCA bushing, tie rod, tie rod end and ball joint, tc rod, tc rod bushing, etc. are the main parts in the front suspension? carfiche.com, car-fiche.com or something close to that should have detailed drawings of all the parts for the 240, as do nismoparts.com if you look up suspension bushings you should find an exploded diagram. Now that we've done you this favor, please do us one in the future. Please utilize the search function before asking a question, and also try to be specific. We can't see the problem you're talking about (unless you post pictures) so being vague makes it even harded to answer you properly. Even if you don't know the name of what you're looking for, at least try to describe how it works.

![]() ![]() But yes, I admit that the most important suspension piece is the driver. If you're looking to improve handling, though, I'd say you do stuff in the following order: Tires Shocks/coilovers (and springs if you want it lowered) brake pads/rotors/fluid/lines Pillowball mounts (if you didn't get them w/ coilovers) Adj. Tension rods rear upper arms rear toe control rods rear traction rods... uhhh yeah. ![]()
