i have a 89 hatch

what size speakers do i have in the front?

and whats a decent / cheap set of speakers.. i just want something that wont crackkle on me when i turn up the radio a little

4"x6" as for speakers I've heard of several people that have put 6.5" speakers in. Infinity Kappas are nice. Etronics has the components for like $150-60 IIRC.

If you just want something that won't sound too bad for cheap you can just buy a cheap set of 4X6 rockfords or infinity's. They will run you bout $50-70.

Polk 4x6s should be nice too... $50 at Crutchfield. Or as mentioned just about any decent brand speaker: Infinity Reference, Rockford Fosgate, JBL, Pioneer etc. Stay away from the cheap paper crap like Audiovox "Rampage" they sell at Pep Boys and Walmart, that's not even worth your time to install

As an aside, I have Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp plate speakers in my car, and they rock

They're about $150pr though.
