KA mystery stalling...need help

So Ive been gone for a while but back because my car has started giving me problems. The deal is that out of nowhere my car has started stalling, engine is a stock KA and lately when I first get turn it on the car idles at about 1k...if i step on the gas the rpms go up normally but when i let off the revs drop immediately, almost all the way off and it almost stalls before bouncing back up. Also when I drive I can feel the acceleration bogging, like its being flicked on and off, the car feels choked up, if that makes sense, but only for a split second before going back to normal. Lately Ive been driving and at times ill be in 3rd gear and approaching a light, step on the clutch and it will just stall out but start right back up while its rolling. Tonight it did it as I was pulling into a parking lot...I had to restart it just to pull all the way in and then it stalled another 2 or 3 times as I was pulling into the space...I went and ate and came back out and it started up fine.

I was thinking possibly a vacuum leak? but tonight when I pulled into my driveway i could smell gas a little...seemed like it could have been coming through my heating vents but i could be imagining that ....any clues would help a lot

Sounds like the IACV valve on the left side of the bay. Look it up in the FSM. You can spray STP throttle cleaner into it.
iacv fix
try that thread
If not, push the maf in tight. I'l do that and my idle is fixed! To lazy to install a new one or give it a good cleaning.
Check for vacuum leaks, use the dish soap trick ( although I never have :P) or just feel around for irregular dispersment.
Weird how many post you got and no search
If none of those work search IACV or idle fix.
Also the idle adjustment screw by the firewall..........you can also check the goddamn egr valve. That thing is horrible.
blah...

I was thinking IACV but I wasnt sure why it would only stall sometimes and not others, it seems like it stalls most frequently when Im coming downhill on a bridge near my house....which seems really random and i cant figure out why there more than other places

this is just me, because Im horrible when it comes to easy fixes. Sounds like the IACV... But I'd take a day out, change the fuel filter, check all your vacuum lines, hell, I'd replace any that even LOOK like they might be bad, check your spark plug gap, clean all of your sensors, clean out your throttle body, IACV, clean/remove your EGR, just go through everything and make it all nice and clean...

Now, thats just me. Im anal about small problems. It sounds like the IACV. Just get some intake cleaner. Its prolly gummed up with god knows what.

i just had this problem on my sr and it was my maf wires, i could not pin point wich wire so i cut all three and reconected and its fine, if your car is stock ka it could be the maf it self is going bad.. i thought my problem was aic valve but when driveing the valve wont make the car run wierd or bog out. it controls idol. swap maf with some one and se if it gets better........
