s13 Trunk Stuck ?

Anyone ever have this problem with the hatch back 90 240sx's? I shut it one day about 2 weeks ago and haven't been able to get it open since. I tried pulling the lever while looking at the latch through the back seat and nothing moves. When I first got it some kid put on this hatch and ever since he did, it didn't get mounted right, so you had to have someone hold the lever while you opened the hatch. Now it doesn't even budge. Will the latch let go if I just unbolt it? Or any other suggestions how to fix it? BTW my key lock in the back is broken too, it spins both ways for some reason since I got it so that doesn't help either. Thanks in advance.

is the cable moving at all when you pull the lever? the cable may be starting to go (they usually stretch before they break) Just make sure the cable is secured down onto the body, it works off resistance, and like a hood pop cable...if its not bolted down and doesnt have any leverage to pull off of, nothing will move.

How exactly do you get to the cable? Do you have to move the carpet?
