Question grafting an intake

Right now I have a CA setup but this question applies to anyone with an intercooler. I am curious that if I grafted another piece into my intake piping, (intake side of the engine), would that decrease or cause any problems? I am looking at grafting a section into my intercooler piping and relocating my MAF. I've relocated my battery to the trunk and I would run the MAF and air cleaner to the battery tray, (to give you an idea). After sealing the intake on the turbine side of the engine, or running open face, relocating that assembly to the other side, would there be any issues with this? The amount of pressure would be the same I presume however, does any one have any ideas or maybe seen this some where?

Why would you gain by doing that?

I am going with a top-mount, waste-gated turbo soon and I need to do something with the MAF. It's an idea to work around the change in my intercooler piping and to also free up, reorganize space under my hood.

If you mean graft as in cut off a section of pipe and add a new one right there.. it'll work. But you may have problems if you think you can move all your piping around. Someone made your pipes and took a lot of time with them, making for the best flow, and if you start adding bends and U-turns, it won't come out well.
But.. moving the MAF by chopping a section out, and then adding the MAF, it won't have any problems.

Right now, I have an HKS intercooler and piping. What I was leading to was adding another seciton of 3 inch pipe to the intake side and adding the MAF and air filter there. I probably should have worded it better but that is my intent. I am curious about any changes in pressure and so forth. If you or anyone has any ideas? I would graft the section/ add it to the piping running to my intake throttle body and then go to where my battery tray. This way, if it can be done, it'll give me the room to add in my last section of 3 inch pipe going to my turbine. It will also cut down on the amount and length or wires in my engine bay and maybe give me some more room in there to add some other toys I want to put in. For example oil catch can, toys like that.
