Heater isn't work. Brings from outside

I've searched and I know this has been posted.

I have a 95' S14. I read something about a cable that turns on the heater. I search and looked in the FSM and couldn't find anything about it.
Can anyone help me on this?? I have no idea what to look for.

Also I heard from a friend that I should flush my radiator since it's over 2 1/2 years old. Or could there be anything else that would cause this problem??

On 1995 models only there's a cable coming off the mode door motor that actuates a valve on the firewall heater hose. Have someone operate the unit inside while you watch the cable, see if the valve is working. Could be kinked, broken, or the motor has jammed somehow.

not quite..... if its blowing but not hot could also be the blend door or cable/actuator for the blend door. If it has a water control valve instead of a blend door it could be that or something related to that system (control, wiring etc)

Not always. No heat can mean a dead blend door motor, jammed linkage, faulty control unit, or other mechanical issues. Could also just have a clog in a line or the hoses on backwards at the firewall.

It blow air out. Just not warm or hot air. It's cool air.

Also my car warms pretty quick. Like after 5 min of driving it's warmed up.

Um... Not to sound dumb. Your talking about the mode that changes cold to hot air. Also is there anyway you can me show me where the cable is?? I'm soo lost about this.
Anyone else chime in with a pic would be great. It's winter and foggy as hell I need my defrosters and heat!!

Look at your heater hoses on the firewall. There's going to be a white valve with a cable like a throttle cable running to it. That controls the hot water flow to your heater core.

I have a similar problem as the OP. My heat doesn't work... at all. It kinda worked last year, but this year its dead. My blower doesn't always work, so I just opened the sunroof a bit to get circulation when it worked. I think my valve is stuck. Reason being that I can't turn it by hand, I can't open or close it. Am I supposed to be able to open or close it manually?

If the car warms up to operating temp, but doesn't overheat, I doubt its the thermostat.
