JDM non digital climate cont. swap?

Does anyone know if the S13 non-digital climate control is "plug n' play" into our USDM S13's??

Reason Im interested is because the USDM one I have looks very rough and Im looking to get a new one. I've seen them in mint condition on ebay, even the JDM non-digital ones (which look different...better actually). Thats why.

Well, afaik the cables would be routed differently, but if you want to try, more power to you. Just let us know how it turns out.

I can tell you from personal experience, a JDM, non-digital thermostat will not hook up. The connections are different. If you want to splice things to the 'nth degree', just like Mr. M said, more power to you.

One of the things that I have in my closet o' spare parts is a body harness out of an S13 back in Japan. At some point in time, once I get through some other things, I plan to match and cut things over. I plan to install a digital thermostat though. Using the body harness though, I plan to match things up and try to either re-pin or splice and re-install. As things are in your car though, a JDM thermostat controller won't match the connections. The best thing I can recommend is pulling yours out and taking it apart. Total I think it's like four or five pieces. Once you have it apart, let it soak in some hot water and let all the soda and food disolve outta the spots where it has been spilt and then use some greased lithium or another lubricant that isn't runny. Lube things down and put it back together. I've done it once or twice and it makes a 'HUGE' difference. It also gives you a chance to change out any LED's and customize it if you want to. Just some food for though....

Yes, changing them from the stock green to any other color you can pick up at an electronics parts store. It takes some skill with it but it can be done.
