Do I have to get a used driveshaft balanced?
I found a driveshaft at a junkyard for $100 with 100k miles on it.
My current u-joints are bad  Anyways, how would I check to make sure the driveshaft is still soild? Would I have to get it balanced or anything, or do I just take 10 minutes and bolt it up? Jeff

if it is not bent or have any major dents in it its probably just fine . go ahead and bolt it in. If it is unbalanced you would know immediately, but the likelyhood of it being unbalanced is not high if not nonexistent.

also, since the driveshaft radius is relatively small, any imbalance would most likely be insignificant. The thing is hollow anyways.
