Cruise Control?
alright so I just picked up a 89 SOHC slammer. its Pretty much a virgin in everyway except for service maintance. The previous owner took it to a shop to get a clutch replaced thats pretty much it. I'm trying to figure out how to get the cruise control to work, the cruise control on button turns on, but the light in the cluster doesn't go on. So it pretty much narrows it down, what I'm asking is where should I look around the clutch and trans area? I figured it'd be something as easy as plugging something back in. I've searched this, but not really much informative pops up. Where should I look first? and where exactly is the CC stuff located Mainly clutch area.

I suggest you check the FSM for cruise control info -there's nothing around the tranny/clutch area that has anything to do with that system. It's wired into the brake relay, and the clutch relay (if your car was M/T from the factory), and all the equipment sits in the engine bay on the passenger side.
Download an FSM and educate yourself.

The cruise will not engage if it sees a ground from either brake or clutch cancel switches. First method to test it is to unplug both of those, one could be bad or broken. If that doesn't solve it, move on to the steering switch, the contacts on the wheel could be corroded or worn down. Next go to the vacuum pump, check for power/signal, then finally finish with the control unit.
