No. And also I think that the 2860 is a good turbo but spend a few more bucks on a 2871.. IMO the best all around T2 based turbo is the GT2871 .86. Cars with this turbo have ran 11.2- 11.4 at about 20 lbs.

Ummm yes you will, well not exactly a standalone but To run that turbo to its full potential you need atleast 550cc injectors and an N62 MAF, you could runa nd SAFC but I dont recommend it. It would be better to get an ECU tune

but you dont need it. 370's at 4 bar will support 290 hp or so. 550's at 4 bar will support about 375 hp. If you want to get technical the injectors to run on a 2871 are 72 lbers if you want to get into the optimal efficiency range.. I doubt this guy is going to ring every last bit of power out of either turbo, I would rather just get a turbo that is more capable for about the same price.
And also I am running 1000cc injectors and I am NOT running a stand alone. I didnt feel like spending 1200 bucks when I can spend 400 for something that is just as capable. |

I ran a HKS GT2530 and it's very similar to the disco potato. You could run the dp without a tune, but all you'll have is a slightly laggier turbo with the same output as your current T28. The weak link still lies in your maf and your injectors. Personally I preferred my old HKS GT2530 over my current GT2871R .64. Just for the mere fact that I daily drive my car and the GT2530 was a lot more responsive reaching full boost in the low to mid 3000 rpm range. While the GT2871R .64 doesn't reach full boost until the very late 3000 rpm range. That 500 to 600 rpm difference is a very noticeable amount on the street.

Exactly. The standard T28 IE GTIR or S14 around good for about 320 ish hp. 2860 is good for about 350 ish but its ballbearing. 2871 .86 is good for 450 if you want on race gas.

I made 286 hp at 16lbs with a T28 on my SR20VE-T ( its in a 200sx SE-R) and my duty cycle was at about 92 percent. That fuel pump is definitely not hacking it for fuel duty. Some people run them but a Walbro is only 100 bucks and its cheap insurance.

You do know that 92% DC is not good right? It wasnt the only the pumps Fault when ever i hooked my PFC up over 11PSI PFC showed 100% DC But that was all on my stock set up and that dyno pull was for information purposes

Whoops my bad. I didnt mean 92. WOW. I would be almost static lol.......That setup is long gone. I am a big fan however of 2871s. As far as the head goes, it does make a big difference, on my boost controller (manual) it was set for 13 but spiked to 15-16 or so. On my first VE-T setup with a bluebird T25, Hotshot front mount and 3 in. open DP I made 242 at stock boost. The head was bone stock. Now my head has Supertech S/R's, headwork, combustion chamber rewelding/ reshaping blah blah and just got it flowed and got good numbers. Off the top of my head my intake on number 1 was 348.5 CFM@ .500 lift. so that gives you a basic idea of what Im going for. A friend of mine, just did a sr16ve head and he got 397.5 @.550" lift on IN and [email protected]" on ex. Well over 5K just in headwork

I didnt say that a Stand alone is not capable at all. I used to run a EMS in fact but I found the Calum ECU a while back and switched since it is much cheaper, can run any setup I need, and is also plug and play for me since there is no plug in setup EMS for the B14. The EMS is an awesome tuning app however for my situation, it was easier, cheaper, and better for me. I can pop my VVL, control progressive nitrous, launch control, 1 click timing mode, map trace, and also uses Consult.
