I need to tap a few suspension components I'm working on and I was wondering if anyone here has Left hand thread taps or knows of a place I can buy them. I know for sure I need a 5/8 -18 LH tap, but I'll also need a larger size, almost positive its 3/4 -16.

Any info would be great. I just found one place online but their $20 and $25 each... ouch. Thanks.

Just make it bigger and use normal threads...

Price doesn't sound that bad for what it is. It's not exactly a common size.

That price is about what you'd expect for a LH tap - they're not common at all, especially in larger sizes.

Check eBay, I've gotten some really nice larger taps on there for about $4-7 shipped if you can wait around a few weeks.

Spending money on tools is different..you will make your money back, and cheep stuff is not worth it.

Try mcmaster.com. They have absolutely everything, and ship it out quick.

Mcmaster carr has it but I wouldn't really go through them for taps, they're pretty pricey, even for RH tap and dies. But you will pay the price for that LH one for sure where ever you go. You can also try searching on Rutland Tools website.

oh shit, i totally thought you were trolling and I was expecting to see "yeah i have a RHD and a bolt hole stripped, so since its rhd i need a LH thread tap"

Thanks guys, looks like ~$20 and $25 is the going price. I tried Mccmaster carr for something else but they dont ship to Canada at all, ghey.

I'll keep an eye out on ebay, havnt seen anything yet though.

Yep, taps and and tooling in general isn't cheap
ebay is your best bet as far as pricing
