![]() I'm buying a KAAZ 2-way lsd this week and I got a question about installation. A friend of mine made me raise an eyebrow of question so I search for the past two hours and came up w/ nothing. Now I turn to you. K, my friend is only domestic knowledgable and told me that when I install my new internals for the diff that I might have to shim it out. I was just wondering if our diffs do have shims or not. No shimming, I install no problem. Shimming, I'll take it to a shop. He said the shims go between the bearings and the retaining caps. Much mahalos to those who can enlighten me.

from what I've heard/read, yes, they have shims, so yes, you should take it to a shop.
![]() Also important (I THINK it's applicable to S14) -- Keep in mind that if you had an open diff, you'll need 2 LEFT (short) VLSD axles to work with the new LSD, your open diff axles won't (shouldn't?) work... you'll have fun with the LSD, guaraneed!

thanks for the info, that's really what I've been wanting to know and haven't been able to come across on the net. I know I've seen it before but now I can't find it. Thanks again.
Is there anybody out there that can confirm this being as he said "I think."
