i know a few times people have asked what to take out to lighten up their 240.  i have an s14b and i decided to see what all i can remove.  i ended up taking out my whole back seat and then removed the back panels to remove the seatbelt assembly.  then i made my way to the trunk, i removed the spare, the jack, the wood and carpet.  i also took out everything i had just sitting in my car (if your like me then you have junk under your seats and in your trunk).  i then figured since no one will be in the back to take out the back floor mats.  i know it doesn't sound like much but i set everything stock that i removed all on the seat and lifted it... it seemed to be around 100 pounds all together.  thats the back seat, every little piece of the seatbelt assembly, spare, jack, carpet, wood, mats...  so its not much but its unnecassary weight.  it seems a little bit faster and a little more responsive.  just think you know what your car does with you in it... then you have a friend who weighs about 150 and its a big difference to you..  so think of you weighing a 100 pounds less...

I have to agree with that. The weight distribution is almost 50/50 (I think it's about 52 front and 48 rear or something like that). It would be logic that you'd spin out a little bit more. The spare and the front passenger seat always help. Also, think about removing your power steering belt, I've heard that helps as well.

Just do as I did, drop a huge sub in the trunk, gets more weight on those tires, and bumps while you ride.

what ever you do don't remove the power steering belt you can't drive without it, it like steering a bus with no power assisted. not worth it.

do you mean the belt went all the way in the little box and you can't get it out? &nbsp;if so i would just cut a 1/2in line down the middle and use a screwdriver to pull it out... &nbsp;but really im not to sure what your asking me. &nbsp;and to you guys talking about no rear weight... i wouldn't worry about having to much weight in the rear till i get the sr20det motor... and when i do ill just put a double stack wing for downforce... &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Hahahaha, you should try it in a front wheel drive car, my power steering belt is off my integra and the only real bitch about it is 3 point turns, u turns from stand still, and any other turn from stand still. &nbsp; It isn't as bad as I imagined. &nbsp;I have a brand new belt to go on though, it isnt too hard to take the belt on and off.

is there an easy way of taking the moving seat belt out and replacing it with a normal seat belt?

Wana know what it's like driving a car without power steering that is supposed to have power steering. &nbsp;Go to an empty lot do some figure 8's and have a friend cut the engine in the middle of it. &nbsp; Not fun.

i tend to laugh when the first thing people do is rip out the seats, you have LOTS heavier things to try to rip out, rather than a seat, the whole rear seat weighs in at a whopping 6 pounds, that wont do much, ohh yea and as far as why make your rear end light?
work in the front
like, the power steering pump (you dont need it), ac compressor (you dont need it), winshield fluid tank (you dont need it), hood (carbon fiber/fiberglass), &nbsp;controller arms (get lighter ones)...
etc, etc,
and put about 2 bags of concrete (25$) in your trunk, tie em down, and you have no need for a a 300$ wing

Also, you could relocate the battery to the trunk, oh, and make sure to put it on the drivers side on the trunk, the passanger side has the gas tank.
