Braided turbo lines heat wrap?
Here is how they are installed
![]() ![]() ![]() The oil line that goes under the exhaust manifold is touching it from below and even runs under where the manifold is bolted on to the engine, underneath the gasket. Question - Should I take everything off and heat wrap the lines, specifically the oil line so there is no chance of it melting or is it generally not a problem? I found two people who had heat wrapped their lines, obviously after i installed mine, one had wrapped it w/ exhaust bandage and exhaust tape on top. Any suggestions? |

It couldn't hurt, but I will tell you that I ran a JGS braided oil line on my KA-T, way back when, and it was touching my tubular manifold in one place. I never had a problem, but I did worry about it. The thing you've got to watch out for is melting that inner tubing; wrapping it couldn't hurt.

the inner part of most stainless lines are rubber, it could hurt alot... do the following
go to napa get that 2000 degree heat wrap tape its $20, roll the lines up with that stuff, then ring/tie safety wire or high heat zip ties every 3" on the tape to ensure it never falls off

I'm sorry that my DIY lines/heatwrapping doesn't meet your approval..... I'm gunna go pay $120+ for stainless lines/fittings and $25/piece for heat wrap socks so i can be 'win'...

sounds good, i already got heat tape & wrap just wanted to make sure for the sake of being lazy and taking off the manifold but it doesn't seem worth the future trouble. thanks
