Do you think its a bad idea to buy used lowering springs? Also, what are the disadvantages to only buying performance springs and leaving your shocks/struts stock?

sometimes on certain cars, the shocks/struts will give out pretty soon w/ aftermarket springs on there, i'm not sure how the 240 is with this situation though.

Generally speaking, springs can take a lot of abuse!  I would have no qualms about buying a used set.

Shocks/struts are another story.  It is not too hard to blow these, so I would only buy new.  As for using the stock shocks w/ springs - it depends on what springs you are using, how old they factory units are, and what conditions you will be using them in.  I, however, would not put springs on the car w/o upgrading these.  You WILL be tearing it back apart before long to upgrade, otherwise.

I'm getting some used pro-kits from my friend for dirt cheap, but I'm probably gonna wait until I can afford some new shocks before I install them. I just hope when I drop my car, my N1 muffler isn't going to be scapping all over the place.

Your cat-back will be fine. I'll try and rip my boyfriend off for his Sportlines. I'm not sure about it though. How long did he use the springs for?
