SR Timing chain tensioner???

I was trying to remove the "front cover" on my S13 SR20 today, and noticed that two of the bolts that hold the cover on are only accessible under the valve cover.

One of those two bolts is directly under the CAS gear on the exhaust cam. In order to get to it, you need to remove the exhaust cam. My question is...

Where is the timing chain tensioner, and how do I remove the timing chain properly? I figure I have to remove the chain before the cam...

Any suggestions?
