SR Need help checking codes on E5 ecu

Does anyone know how I can check for codes on my E5 ecu off my s13 blacktop? There seems to be no led lights and could someone tell me how I can wire up Consult? If I wire it up like this link: http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_wiring.htm will I be able to read codes then?

did you check and see if your check engine light blinks when you turn the ecu screw left then right? Did you try to turn the ecu screw to see what it would do? Is the key turned to on?

The CEL is not wired up. If I find the wires for it and wire it up, will I be able to read codes? My key is on the third position when i try to check (run position), not acc.

this might help...courtesy of Kazuo:

this is general for 89-98 Nissan but most apply to the SR20 motor.
- to set car into diag. mode, with the key in the "ON" position, turn potentometer screw on ECU fully clockwise, then turn it fully counterclockwise. The LED on the ECU will begin to flash.
- first digit = LONG blink; second digit = SHORT blink (ex: 1... 1... 1... 1... then 1-1-1 equals 43 = TPS)
