Max HP for oem Exedy clutch

Anyone know what the maximum horsepower and/or torque the Exedy oem clutch can take? Would it be functional (with no slipping) at about 200-220rwhp?

Stock KA clutch?

Well, first things first - A clutch is rated by torque, not HP.

I had a T3 super-60 on a KA, making maybe ~220rwhp, 235-240rwtq...and it didn't even work for the test drive after the turbo install.

+200ft/lbs..and you'll need to upgrade the clutch.

Based on you saying "about 200-220rwhp"...I'll guess you're using a T25? If so, it'll spool QUICK, and make good low-end TQ...and the clutch WILL slip.

Its a holset h1c - i guess ill have to put in a new clutch. The reason I am asking is because I put in the exedy clutch about a year ago and only put about 600 miles on it..

Once again its about torque and not HP. Depends also if you rail it.... OEM clutch is not going to hold 200ft/lb.... A stage 2 won't hold more than 275-300..... if it does, it will wear out quick...

Do it right, RPM Max Turbo Street disc... 300 ft/lb of torque at 4900RPM no problem for 2 years....

280 ft-lbs on Exedy Stage 1 for 1 year. No problems. I'm about to put 300+ through it and we'll see what happens...maybe it will force me to go to the Tilton setup.
