Does anyone know if the Apexi N1 is street legal in California, and if it is, how do you go about proving to cops/courts that it is?

I believe that not all exhausts are street legal in CA.  I've heard that they actually measure the width...I've seen a few streetracing vids where the cops pulled them over, and are actually measuring them.   I live in Oregon...and so far, there's no sound limit or size or anything...only if you can pass emissions.

I believe that all street-legal products will have a "CARB" number...you can also check out the websites, see if they say "for off road use only."

No, Cat-back system is legal as long as they don't exceed the sound limit. Check the website below:

See, that's the thing, I know that California has a 95db sound limit, but I don't know if the N1 emits more than that or not and I have no way of testing it. I actually have the N1 on my car right now, but I just don't know what to do if I get a fix it ticket.

"IF" it's 2 loud, then u could get the silencer for ur exhaust from the same company n that lowers it by 7 db. i'm not sure if the cop would have the instrument needed to measure ur sound output from ur exhaust handy all the time so i'm not sure how that all would really work out if u got pulled over.

Good idea rabbit, I'd like to carry one around with me so if a cop ever pulls me over, I can demonstrate that he's a f#cking moron, and prove that my exhaust is legal right in front of his face...Ah, I'd probably still get the ticket anyways though.
