crank position sensor problem

hey everybody ill get to the point i have a 96 zenki stock ka obd2 etc ... im throwing a code for crank position sensor open loop or something like that ...

was wondering if any could tell me or take a picture of where the wires come off the harness and what colors they are ... ???

what i tried:
thought my sensor was just messed up so bought a new 1 but when i went to replace it (on the top back of the tranny) found that it was broken off and my connector and wire where nowhere to be found ...

it connects to one of the slots of the harness that connects to your reverse lights, speed sensor, etc...

yep.. you should have a slot for speed sensor, o2 sensor, neutral sensor, 5th gear sensor, reverse light sensor, and the crank position sensor on that harness

It actually legs off just past the starter, coming off the lower harness, but it has it's own subharness that plugs in then reaches up across the bellhousing to the sensor. Either end could be unplugged or the subharness is missing completely.

The subharness is a 3prong to 2prong at the sensor. So it appears you're missing the subharness. Wire colors are blue, pink, and white.

^^^you beat me to it. The third wire actually just goes to shielding around the wires near the sensor to protect it from interference.

So you have the subharness, or not? You'll need either that harness or you'll need to make one. There's no other way around it.

Good question. I know the 200SX sensor looks the same, maybe try a yard and see what you get.
