Sard Injectors (who uses them?)
I think i may be purchasing some 550cc SARD injectors soon for my Sr20DeT, and I kinda am looking for some feed back on these injectors. They are supposed to be drop in and ready to rock injectors, but I have heard of other people having issues with them.
What do you all think? Any experience with SARD? Are they reputable, dependable, and quality?

I use Sard 555cc's. They dropped right in. I had to splice in the injector clips because the stock OEM clips don't plug in, but that was no biggie. Works good for me.
Sard is a very high quality, reputable company. |

Just buy tomei/apexi/nismo injectors. Same shit. Better price. Plug and play. Just make sure you replace all the seals/o rings. www.rhdjapan.com for best prices.

Those are Denso Type I injectors. That is why the connectors are the same. You have to change the connector type on the SARD's because they are Denso Type II. Why why why why? Denso Type II is the revised side feed design, they have a lower effective minium injector open time (.6) than the type I (1.1) which can GREATLY EFFECT IDLE QUALITY USING LARGER INJECTORS. They also have better copper winding, and a larger solenoid body. Better spray nozzle blah blah blah blah. SARD = Best. Stock/Nismo = Rest. I am not 100% Sure on the Apexi's, I think they are type I, tomei I am unsure of too. To the OP: What size turbo? The SARD's provide SUCH good idle quality I would go 740's first, even for stock turbo.

I run SARD 555cc's in both of my S14 SR's and they work great for my application. Other than the changing of the clips they pop right in. They are great quality as well!

Im running SARD 850s on my SR. I was originally looking for Tomei/Nismo 740s but they were going for $550 a set. Ended up getting a hook up for $300 for the SARD ones brand spanking new. Like stated, they are drop ins but you have to cut the plugs off your harness and splice the SARD plugs in. Thats the only pain in the ass part...

I bought Sard 550cc injectors for an SR20DET from RHDjapan, but they sent me Sard 550cc injectors for an RB25DET; will the RB injectors work on my SR?

Older 90's toyota's use the same clips. Denso style injectors are what Toyota used. I got mine off a 93 Toyota Tercel. Cost me about 30 bucks at a junkyard. Snapped right into the injector, all i had to do was splice the harness.

Bump. Think im actually getting these soon.
They are used, and not a lot of info on them, should i send them off and have them tested and cleaned? And also, what clips/o-rings am i going to need to make them work?

Don't get used injectors.
Just buy new. A fuel injector is a wear based item, meaning over its life span / use it works less efficiently than when new. Plus everything you need will come with them.

You're going to spend the same amount of money for used injectors and sending them out to get tested/cleaned/flow matched as you would buying new ones.... I bought SARD's based on a conversation I had with John... Got them at a better price than the Tomei/Nismo ones too..

Its still a wear item, the solenoid wears over time.
Plus, 550's are small, comparatively you can use the 850's for any application the 550's would suit, and you have more headroom.

Ok, installing them now. What wires go to which Toyota plug? The toyota plugs have a black with orange stripe, and a white with stripe. How does that correspond with the SR harness?

DjFlex; None that I can think of, if anything, you will be putting less wear because they will be open for a shorter duration, though, also a faster "on/off"... something to think about. But I couldn't see an issue with idling a GT40 car vs a stock sr, the fuel metering would be about the same. So, No, no problem at all.

damn I just bought some 550s considering my lack of need for bigger ones, but it would have been nice to have some headroom.. oh well just money right.

So, The type I's your idle quality and MPG goes down when you goto 740's over 550's.
You are saying the Type II's your idle quality and mpg will not go down with the 850's over the 550's?
