How bad is an operating temp of 180 F?

This is at idle. s13 warms up steadily to 180 F. takes at least 10 minutes to get this hot. the fsm say 158 is the spec at idle.

i have noticed the clutch fan on my s14 keeps my car under 160 f but the tarus fan on my s13 keeps the car anywhere from 190-205. You have nothing to worry about untill you start seeing temps over 210.

My car ran steadily at 190ish* with a stock thermo and Dual FAL's. I wouldn't worry about 180* or 210*, more so 220*. That's when shit starts to get really hot. You also have to take into account ambient air temp. The hotter it is outside, the harder it is going to be for your car to dissipate heat.

220 is time for concern. 240 is time to pull over. 260 is time to start ordering new parts.

Anything 210 and below is fine.

^^+1 more on that^^^ Even with my NISMO thermostat I run about 185-200 depending on the ambient air temp and other such factors.
