Help! :(

I hear this weird noise when I reverse sometimes, and it sounds like a loud rubbing noise, BUT I don't think my tires are rubbing. Also, there are no scuff marks on the insides of my fenders...any ideas as to what this noise could be? (BTW, I only hear the sound when I'm in reverse....)

check your brake pads (rear) improper wear (it may have been installed incorrectly) can lead to this problem (i had it on my car at one time)

sounds stupid but look for something under the car that might have got hooked up and dragged. I dragged around a plastic bag for a week...

You're slider pins on the calipers may be seized. It's tyupically a simple fix. Tear apart the slider pins, remove any build-up, and then add some grease(the auto parts store should have a grease designed for this application).

check your tc rods. also check your wheels well to see if the plastic liner has come loose.

It's the rear brakes. I have this problem now.

Relube the caliper slider pins and reinstall the pads. Problem fixed.

Ok, I'm guessing that it has something to do with the brake pads...I think I didn't lube the caliper slider pins....are the pins the ones that hold the caliper in place? I'm not exactly sure what they are....oh, and mrdirty, that's good advice....that was the first thing I looked for when I heard the sound ....I'm pretty sure I installed the pads right, but I'll redo 'em just to make sure.

Thanks you guys! You were all really helpful...I'll let you know what happens...! Thanks again!

Ok, this is an old topic and I still get the noises....what's weird is that the only time it makes noise is if I go from D to reverse...meaning it doesn't make a noise when I back out of the garage from park. And the noise is coming from my rear right wheel...it sounds like a very loud rubbing noise, but not like tires rubbing....
