question:

how much is a cluster from a SR that has a redline that starts at 7200, ends at 9K

speedo goes to 240kph

is that a standard SR gauge cluster?
how much one worth??
is there interset in them? do SR guys need the wiring harnes (subharness) as well?

im a KA boyeeee so im SR unsure on the clusters

That speedo is not stock... stock goes to 180km/h. I think the Nismo speedo goes to 240km/h, if it's not marked Nismo it might be a stock euro spec speedometer. Impul makes an aftermarket speedo but it goes to 260km/h.

That's the normal tach though.

It's a direct plug-in.

The cool 240km/h speedometer is worth a decent amount. The tach is at least worth it to someone with a SOHC that needs a new tach anyway. Dunno actual dollar amounts.

Oh those cluster's have an aftermarket speedo.

I've seen a blitz speedo (iirc) and a nismo before.

They go for $180-240 from what I've seen

Worth it, no imho
interset, maybe for the trendy ppl who like to know they can go 240kph, if the need ever comes

Subharness ? for what ...

He's referring to the instrument cluster subharness...

It's necessary to swap the cluster subharness if you swap from HUD to non-HUD or vice versa. But JDM and US-spec subharnesses are the same (well, functionally the same).

Subharness is not needed, unless you are going from HUD to non HUD, but I wouldn't know unless you told me .. sorry, I'm not a mind reader like .. :X ..

I'm not a mindreader... HUD/non-HUD swaps are just the only time anyone's ever brought up the subharness.

You want a hud but not a digital dash? I'm pretty sure that's impossible. The hud plugs into to the display unit, and I think it just gets raw numbers from it. If you want I can investigate more and post pictures.

As for the SR digital cluster, with the subharness included, these seem to be hard to find. I got one for 75 but it turned out to be a CA18DET one. The tach wont work with a KA24DE. Might work with a KA24E, in fact I'm pretty sure it will.

all i need is the RPM gauge and functions (gas, engine light, etc) to work. the speed i dont care about (i have a RSM)

should work. i know people who've done it. subharness should be here here shortly and the cluster i get on april 6

i dont see why it shouldnt work.

I dont understand what you mean by this.

Annother thing. If the speedo goes that high that it is probably from europe. Unless someone from Japan swapped a euro speedo into their SR cluster, it is euro and all euro cars were CA18. Unless they swittched the tach type in 91 without changing the engine, I dont think the euro tach would work with a KA24DE.

Oh, well thats no problem, thats what I have in my fastback now. You just need a tach that came from a 91-94 car (JDM or USDM).

this is what is going on

me have:
92 base, fastback

me get:
HUD cluster (92 cluster)
HUD subharness

so swapping htem and throwing my old cluster in my closet.
i have a89/90 HUD already but no use redoing wiring and swapping RPM gauge, so i just got a 91+ hudsetup.

im changing the bulb colors too hehehehe....
