Crossover placement?

Where is the best place to mount crossovers for component speakers? The doors or elsewhere?

double side tape that shit all around inside the door. remove the door panel and inside there should be a big piece of foam. it is about 4"x6" and about 1" thick. that is usually where i mount component crossovers. granted it has been a few years since i have done stereo work. Anyway. Make sure you double side tape it good, and provide enough cable so you can glue it down, so the window can roll down as well.

I had been playing around with the idea of doing components in my S13 doors. I also pondered where to mount the x-overs. The door speakers are the only speakers in my car. Would the components make that much of a difference over full range speakers in the doors to make them worth getting? I had just planned on running them off of my headunit, that has a mosfet amp inside.
