I noticed my 93' 240SX KA24DE has 2 mufflers. What is the reasoning behind this , also i was thinking about cutting one off for better sound.

What is the purpose for that black box under the driver side head light, Its the very start of the intake , and no iam not talking about the air filter , this box is empty and dosent open up , its hard to get to.

Any info you can give will be a help.

The "second muffler" is a resonator, as is the box under your air filter.
