Wilwood Master Cylinders?
I have an S14 with an LS1 swap. I used a .75" wilwood clutch master cylinder. I have been driving the car for about 6 months now and i have rebuilt that master cylinder twice already. Has anyone else experienced a problem running their cylinders?
My next question, has anyone used an alternative brand? I spoke with a guy who races sprint cars and he had lots of problems with wilwood and has switched to US Brakes. He was rebuilding his wilwood cylinders every two weeks. Now with the US Brakes cylinder he was gone almost a year without an issue. Thanks for any help. Bay shot for reference.. ![]() |

You can try AP Racing if Wilwood quality isn't cutting it. Their parts are gonna cost you though. Personally, my experience with Wilwood has only been on Formula SAE cars, which have relatively small braking loads. I haven't seen any issues with Wilwood parts, but I've heard that AP Racing is a big jump in quality.

i have been running a wilwood 3/4" unit for a few months now with no problems, fluid has been perfectly clear with no pump down or piston problems. i've bled the fluid once for a track day, and have a thick aluminized heat shielding wrap around the line running from the master to the throwout/slave.
you can also try CNC brakes, most turn key kits use them (hinson/Sikky/Daft) i believe the bolt pattern is the same as wilwood. |
