I got a set of Tomei brand new with broken "pittlesp) Luckly the shop has a good rep and replaced them. The OEM I pulled were the same way. i wish I knew the answer.

One of the weak points on 90's nissan cars,Probably due to inferior materials being used. Same thing happened on my Acura a while back, fuel and plastic do not mix.

if i recall, it is ok that pintle is broken like that. its purpose is to keep o ring in place, i think.

i pulled a half dozen injectors at the junkyard while i was there, and out of the same engine i found two different types of pintle caps. one is the type in the picture with the four prong things and the other is just a solid single piece. i might match up a set of four with the single piece cap and send those in for cleaning. weird.
