225's on stock s14 se wheels?

okay.. this might be a dumb newB question (i already searched n found nothing).. but is it safe to put 225's on stock s14 se wheels? i found a really good deal on some tires, but they are 225's.. also whats the widest tires i can put on, if not 225's? thanks in advance!

it's not unsafe, but that's about the widest anybody with half a brain would put on those wheels. just make sure you have a fairly low sidewall.

sorry, im not very good with wheel/tire sizes.. would 225-50-16's be okay? sorry if im such a dumbass! i just wanted to make sure.. thanks again!

yes, they'll be fine.

lots of sidewall flex, but still safe.

don't feel stupid. i used to run 225/50/15 on my steeles! it looked pretty badass from behind.

you know, in trying to go with a wider tire to get a larger footprint, the tread can actually "cup" where it lifts the center section of the tread off ground, giving you less contact patch. thats an exteme case...
in your case, if you can get the tires cheaper, I'd say go for it. Are you talking about those 225/50 kumho's off tire rack for like 55 bucks? I was thinking of getting some of those later myself.
