ka24e intake

so my intake tubing is messed up(it has a tear in it) and im thinking of just buying ahose from autozone, and putting a breather onto the valve cover since i cant find that hose anywhere( junkyard ones are always messed up)dont know if its a good idea and would like some input on the breather idea. thanks in advance

Do it right

hit up vatche on here, I think he has a couple intake tubes kicking around in good shape and he is always up north in your neck of the woods. I wouldn't jank something together. Go back to OEM or upgrade to an injen. Do it right or dont do it at all.

I don't think you will see any gain anywhere in doing so. Save your money on those little breathers for good tires or somewhere where it will make a difference. The single slammer can be built and I have no idea what stage you are in with your car...but I wouldn't bother with something that will be purely aesthetic.

Here's the thing....Without looking at it I cant remember where the valvecover vent goes into the intake. But that is un-metered air. The problem with un-metered air is the car relies on the maf (mass air-flow) reading to tell it how much fuel to dump into the chambers. If you modify the intake to where you are allowing this extra air in, it could react like a vacuum leak, which could create high idle, as well as a lean condition. Bottom line, run it stock....OR throw on some ITBs.....lol jk unless you can afford em.

I will warn you, be careful around him.....I never really realized all the random stuff on my car that is broken until he started selling me parts.....if you like a clean clean car he has the hookup on parts to keep it oem and clean parts....I had broken tail lights and I was missing interior, I am buying parts from him to get it all back together properly lol.
