Right and Left Side for Cusco Engine Mounts
Does anyone know if there is a right side and a left side for cusco mounts?
I changed my engine mounts about 2 months ago and it was kind of a pain to get them in but finally did. Today I go to put my nismo transmission mount in and the bracket that bolts to the chassis doesn't line up. The engine sits about .5-1 inch too far back. People who have cusco mounts, did your instructions specify which mount goes where. The studs are offet by about .5 inch so I figure maybe I have the mount on the wrong side. Has anyone run into this before? |

Yeah i dont think the cuscos are different. compare them i think they may set the engine back a little anyways. It set mine back and im using a peak performance tranny mount (way better than nismo IMO) and it tweaks it a little but it bolts up fine its after its tightened it looks like a Banana kind of but it works properly and has worked properly for over 4 years.

yea I am starting to think that the mounts are definitely the root of the problem. Now my problem is the fact that I don't have an engine hoist and will have to first try to swap them without a hoist. I think my best bet is to jack it up from somewhere under the engine and unbolting the whole mount with the bracket off the engine.
And I got the nismo mount so you can still bolt up the stock exhaust bracket. With the peak, you can't. and cusco mounts are so freakin stiff they wont even move that inch that its off. |

Put a floor jack or bottle jack under the bellhousing, then unbolt the engine mounts brackets off the block, that way you don't have to lift anything. Swap the mounts to the correct brackets, then reinstall. That is definitely your issue, with the mounts on opposite sides the engine sits higher a hair and forward about an inch.

And for anyone who has cusco mounts and can't figure out which one is which. The smaller of the two mounts goes on the driver side. |

Right, set it right at the forward part, just behind the block. It will support the weight of both. It *may* lean a bit, but go quick and don't let it sit without either mount for too long.

Yeah + 1 Jack it up from the front of the bell housing, Unbolt both mounts first obviously then jack it up slowly until you can get them out then put in the new ones Id say do the engine mounts first then change the tranny mount!
