and i'd bet if you're people who know people, $8k isn't that surprising for a RB26

IRC thats how much McKinney motor charges for a RB25DET SWAP.

and have fun putting in a RB26 in a 240sx... a lot of custom stuff, and making things fit.

dude you can get an RB26dett front clip (R-33) anyday for half that if you even bother to check any other engine importer.
As far as the custom work, well, an rb25det and tranny and a single turbo conversion and it wouldn't be much different than an rb25det, which if you read up, isn't too horrible difficult to install if you are mechanically inclined.

i think i heard that the rb25 swap was about $5000 last time i was over there, at McKinney.

i've always heard it'll take modifications to the sump for clearance issues, too, but yeah other than that a single turbo conversaion to clear steering shaft (ever notice how zenitani's car has big ol' twins in that little 180sx? damned RHD peoples)
