Yep again its new pics of Nitekids automobile. Just wanted to say I love my new set up. 17x9 allaround +15 all around. 215/45/17 up front and 235/45/17 in rear. I gotta roll my fenders though in the rear. Thank you Sam (Jspec.com) for helping me out. I love how *super flush it is!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by NiteKids; 05-11-2003 at 12:34 PM.. |

you have a 'drifting' setup tire wise
average joe (non drifter) DOES NOT need that, espeically on USA streets go to a normal setup. yeah it might look cool and be diferent ,but there's no need. i call it posing ![]() |

Nitekids, since you have 9 inch rims all around why didn't you get the same size tire all around...that way you would have been able to rotate them. Idon't know, those 215's just don't look right to me.

i'm gonna have to agree with Dunkee, those 215's just dont look right. If you absolutely have to have the stretched tire thing, i would go with 225's. Thats just my $.02

nitekids internet drifts, has enough power to do a 17 second quarter mile on those wheels. i admit that i'm hating, because those are the exact wheels i'm saving up for (but black, and larger tires). BUT seriously, friends don't let friends be posers. reject the dark side Henry! spend the money on going to the track!

pruto: no richard does not drift that much at all. he's got other 'obligations' hahaha..
that's why i said nitekides DOES NOT need stretched but the whole 'stretched is pointless' never gets brought up on richard's car. no one makes fun of it but they'll make fun of it on henry's car. just a double standard. |

dousan: ok, correction, richard's car drifts a lot, haha. its a slut
![]() Its not really a double standard, he has the power to drift on those, he does drift on those, often enough, other people drift with his car. 'stretched is pointless' doesn't get brought up on Richard's car cause Its functional and has been used for its purpose enough times (at least a handful of times so far from what i've heard, by him and other people). I really admire what he has done to his car, in true JDM fashion, part time carpet queen, part time bad *** track star, full time street driven. Bliss: i forgot, but he has widebody wheels, like i think 10.5 or 11 in the rear, mad offset, tires stretched to its limits. Its insane. Oh, and that stretched thing really really scares me, Japanese people do it, but they have awesome tires to work with. If you street drive on stretched american tires it might not be good... just be careful dude.

pruto: richard doesnst drift THAT MUCH. but he does about as much as any other so cali track guy....
anyways, nah its NOT stretched because of power its streched because of response and lack of sidewall flex i can run a 17x9 215 setup on a stock KA and drift fine. its about driver, not tire setup. and stretched woulbe MUCH EAISER for me rather then a 'properly' fit tire. its not stretched because of power!!! you can get them stretched in usa if you know where to go. most shops WONT do it. power doesnt require stretched. its stretched for other purposes. |

I'm asking just cuz I work at a tire shop, and I've never stretched a 215 on a 9 in. rim. I'm trying to think about how hard it is. Did the shop guys have much trouble?

try it if you can!
you have to push it out and get it to hold in place, it takes a lot of upper body strength and work slowly around iirc. not 100% never done it, but i've spoken with lots of people who get it done/have it o ntheir cars . some shops will charge more money for the stretch job |

The tires on Richard's car look like they are meant to be stretched. They actually look really good, but Nitekids' tires don't look like they want to stetch. It's flat up top and then flares out a little on the lip of the rim. I'm not mocking it, but it literally looks like it's gonna pop. Just gotta be careful I guess.

If it was on your car i don't think anyone would be making that big of a deal out of it. There is more feedback and response like you said, but probably requires more skill and control. I doubt its the optimum setup for a noob learning to drive (drift or grip). Oh well, its not my car, or money. As long as you know what you're doing, and what you're getting yourself into. There is probably more risks and consequences. Is it worth it? 6:58am.. damn, i should be asleep, i post because i care ![]()
