![]() My clip came w/ a veilside tuned ECU. I compenstaed for everything so far that it may be tuned for except for the gas. I assume the ECU was tuned for max power from high grade japanese pump gas, whatever octane that may be. All I know that is probably better gas than I can get from the pump here. So what I need to know is how much I should retard the timing so I can use 93 octane and not blow my engine up. Any info or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

The octane rating in Japan is completely different from the US rating. Gas in the US at 93/94 octane is equal to or better than anything rated at ~100 in the UK, Japan and Europe.
